How we lose our heritage....

Here is the beautiful "Jinke Mane" (Deer House, pronounced jinkEy manEy) as it stood in 2014. The beautiful portico had already gone, and it occurred to me to document it as it was.


Alas, in 2017, the demolition began, for the Metro Rail.

Here you can see the deer over the window lintel, which gave the house its name:


I clicked the last remnants of the house....

I wonder how many more beautiful pieces of heritage have been lost to "development" in this unheeding fashion?
