A Freudian slip is what you wear under your Jung gown...

...

My friend latelyontime wrote to me:

"I saw this weird looking word - something like a mutated sparrow, perched next to me last evening"

This had me laughing out loud!!

I like wordplay and I like birds, so I would really LOVE to see a weird -looking word perched next to him on a park bench!

Another lovely typo was by kalyan...I was asking for a post  of his Yahoo days which brainz referred to, about his being stuck in the toilet...and he typed back, "I am looing for it!"

And I wonder if you read my post about yet another  friend whom I had taken to see an art exhibition, and she emailed me, "So...did you go back to see those painings?"

As latelyontime would probably say:  I love birdplay!

Another post on the subject of howlers...

....

I have a collection of howlers collected from various newspapers and mags...anyone  who wants to have a look is welcome! And if any of you come across fresh ones...do send them to me or let me know about them. I would love to add to my collection...one of my latest is a headline from the Deccan Herald that says, "CM signature forgerer caught". Amongst my favourites: "AIDS patient in Madras General Hospital Stable" (poor guy, probably died of horse-induced tetanus!) ; "Topless Posts in Chengalpattu District" (great entertainment for the people of the area) , and "BJP To Back Front Government".

A less poetic song from "ThangaikkAga" (1971)

...

Have been posting about all the  beautiful, poetic Tamizh songs...well, here's  part of one of the other type:

The song is "angamuthu thangamuthu thaNNikku pOnALAm" with Nagesh and cohorts.....one of whom is a male dressed as a woman....

Operation illAmalEy AmbaLai pombaLai AnA - co-
operation thEdikittu kOdambAkkam pOnA...
Corporation Lorry...oNNu kattiyirukkuthu sAri...
Ashai konjam meeri...iva Aru mAsam carry...oh bailabailabaila...etc

Translation:

Without any operation, a man became a woman;
looking for co-operation, she went to Kodambakkam (an area of Chennai famous for both the cinema studios and the red light district..you take your pick!);
here is a Corporation Lorry (the city corporation uses the most decrepit lorries for garbage clearance)
wearing a sari;
but desire overflowed..
and she is six months "carrying"....

So we can produce crapola stuff too...! I don't know whether to laugh, or to cringe!

International Blog Day 2005

Blogthis

The idea came from Israeli blogger Nir Ofir, who happened to notice that the numbers for the 31st of August, "3108" (which is how they order dates pretty much everywhere except the U.S.) look kind of like the word "blog"...close enough, right? Anyway here's the plan to celebrate World Blog Day 2005:

In one long moment on August 31st, bloggers from all over the world will post a recommendation of 5 new Blogs, Preferably, Blogs different from their own culture, point of view and attitude. On this day, blog surfers will find themselves leaping and discovering new, unknown Blogs, celebrating the discovery of new people and new bloggers.

What a ridiculous reason to choose 31 August....!
